The Department of Energy has applied for a license to ship highly-enriched (but not bomb-grade) uranium to Canada for use in making medical isotopes.

A rule change has been requested by the group representing the state governments which have taken over some regulation from the NRC.
-A 40 hour radiation safety training course would be required for nondestructive testing technicians.
-This would also clarify some personnel requirements.
-Apparently, there is no definition of “surveillance” in the regulations; this would be changed to a set number of people present.
