The Advanced CANDU Reactor (ACR) is a third-generation waste-eating reactor from Canada. It is a hybrid of traditional American and Canadian designs, combining many safety features of each with the CANDUs’ traditional waste-eating capability and American proliferation resistance. The ACR’s designer, AECL, is pursuing design certification for the ACR-700 (700-megawatt) and ACR-1000 (1200-megawatt) models. We ask you to support certification.
