Inconsequential Site Stuff

In yet another new product announcement, you will soon be able to legally send US postage with “Go Nuclear” on them starting sometime this month.

I do not control when they become available; it’s probably when the light switch covers come out.

“Our government controls all the important radiation health databases in this country, and some abroad. It’s as if the tobacco industry controlled all the databases about the health effects of tobacco.”

“As for the privilege-elite itself, or its families, suffering from side-effects, this threat is of small moment when viewed alongside the stacks of dollars to be had.”

At the CafePress store, the tote bags are back in stock.

We’ll also soon be selling light switch covers!

Seriously, though, please check it out.

In a development a little less irrelevant than our position in various Google searches, the reason that there hasn’t been much news lately is that I’ve been working on getting www.niof.org up. It’s coming close, and I hope it will be up within a week.

Publicity

This blog is the #1 search result for “niof nuclear” (no quotes), the NIOF discussion board is the second and the cafepress.com store is the third.

Good for visibility, I guess, although they all still have a PageRank of zero.

Anti-Nuclear Quote of the Day

Today’s Anti-Nuclear Quote of the Day is a collection.

“From the point of view of the privilege-elite, the only choice which makes sense is to opt for the energy approach which absolutely guarantees complete dependence on a central source. That is the explanation for the miraculous romance between our energy-planners and electricity.”

“Never mind that there is no reason which makes sense for using electricity for more than about 10% of our end-uses of energy.”

“If you go one step farther, after deciding that doing just about everything electrically is an excellent guarantee that everyone pays his tithe, the next step is to ensure that electricity-generation has to be forever centralized SECURELY. Nuclear power came along “in the nick of time” (to borrow nuclear salesman Glenn Seaborg’s catchiest line) to solve that problem.”

-Dr. John Gofman, pp.70-71 of Irrevy: An Irreverent, Illustrated View of Nuclear Power.

Translation: nuclear power is the only way to generate large amounts of electricity, and since electricity is evil, we should get rid of nuclear power.

This is the motivation of the anti-nuclear movement.
